| They're doing it again... |

DC is rebooting and restarting all of their series August 31 after Flashpoint concludes.
Might as well cancel all my current DC titles now, they'll all out of continuity in a few months anyway.
They are going same day and date digital/print. Might be interesting to check out.
Guaranteed the Geoff Johns/Jim Lee Justice League is off schedule by issue #2.... |

| How?? |
[May. 24th, 2011|04:07 pm] |
...does someone with a new baby find the time to get any writing done?? Jayna is 8 weeks old and I haven't written one word...I work, then I go home and take over from Simia, who is home on Maternity leave for a year.
Any tips from the writer/parents out there? |

Took a look at my comic pull list (which is spread over 3 different comic stores in Saskatoon...trying to spread the meager wealth).
8th Street Books
Green Lantern Green Lantern Corps Green Lantern: Emerald Warriors Justice League of America Avengers Secret Avengers New Avengers Avengers Academy Ultimate Comics Spider-Man Thunderbolts Captain America Iron Man Thor Amazing Spider-Man Fear Itself Flashpoint
Unreal City
Batman Detective Comics Batman & Robin Batman Inc. Batman: The Dark Knight Red Robin Heroes for Hire FF Iron Man 2.0 John Byrne's Next Men
Amazing Stories
Invincible The Walking Dead Irredeemable Incorruptible Daredevil Moon Knight Punisher Uncanny X-Men X-Men Legacy Uncanny X-Force New Mutants
A little bit of everything. The Batman titles are the least interesting of what I have there, otherwise everything else looks like fun. Of course, Flashpoint could change everything I have for DC come August from what rumours I hear. |

I never thought I'd say this...but I'm enjoying Judd Winick's Justice League: Generation Lost soooo much more than Geoff Johns and Peter Tomasi's Brightest Day. |

March 21, 2011 (or thereabouts) will be most important day in my life.
That’s the day my first child will be born. After 5 years of trying and going through the worst feelings I’ve ever had, we will finally carry a baby to term and be parents. I’m excited as hell to be a dad, I don’t think I’ve ever wanted anything more than this.
I’m also scared as freaking hell. This isn’t a dog or a cat. This isn’t babysitting a friend’s child where I get to return them to their owners and then walk back to my own life. This is the real deal, and it scares the bejeebers out of me that I will be largely responsible for the person this child turns into. Will he/she be a success in life? Will he/she be a terrible human being? Will I be a good parent? Will everything I try and do end up failing with them? I know it’s useless to prognosticate on the future, but I can’t help but think that for the first time in my life, there is something before me that I absolutely cannot afford to fail at…and it scares me what I have to lose if I do. |

Watching the morning news show this morning, and what do I hear? The revelation of who in the Fantastic Four dies today. Comic store isn't even open and the big reveal is ruined at 6 am.
Stupid news...and stupid Marvel for spilling the beans early! |

| What Is Up - 10/04/2010 |
[Oct. 4th, 2010|09:03 am] |
- Wife is still pregnant, all is going well at 16 weeks. We've never made it this far before, so its exciting and scary at the same time. Boy's name is all picked out, Girl...not yet. - Updated DC Infinity for the first time since February....why the writing staff stuck around this long I don't know, but I do appreciate it. Back to weekly updates! - On the writing front this week: Marvel Anthology issues of Iron Man and Solo Avengers, DCI issues of Brave & The Bold, Dark Worlds and Checkmate...and Batman for Faux DC. - Short week this week as I'm taking Friday off...Brother-In-Law getting married. With Thanksgiving this weekend too (and Monday off) it's a four day week for 2 weeks in a row baby! - Anyone watching The Event? I haven't seen an episode yet, but am looking for something to replace my Lost fix. Still haven't caught Smallville or Fringe yet this season, either. - Got Iron Man 2, Get Him To The Greek and Forgetting Sarah Marshall on Friday. Greek was funny, but Sarah Marshall was overall funnier. Why Jonah Hill had to play another character in Greek after his hilarious one in Sarah Marshall I don't know. - I could watch the suitcase armor scene in IM 2 over and over...and have been doing so, actually. - Initiative should update this week, too....fingers crossed. - And now....to work. |
